Hi guys,
I know, it has been a while since I last blogged, but I have been sooo busy with coursework, getting my photographs ready for display, and also revising for exams.... Sucks!
So, I haven't really had much use of the camera, except for my exam prep work for Photography, which is a shame, however, I have some older photographs that I would like to share with you today. I hope you enjoy!!
This was in my garden in February, it was a light settling of snow and the grass looked so magical!
And this was a couple of months ago in the garden, I found a leaf that looked like it was floating. I like this picture because it captures the simplicity of the garden and its surroundings!
Well, I hope you all enjoy, leave a comment about what you would like to see on here next! Any thing is possible!
Just let me know!!
Thanks,
Lauren :) x

Buckingham Palace...
This was a while a go but it is one of my favourite pictures.
It is of Buckingham Palace, but you wouldn't be able to notice that because all you can see are two black bars, the actual palace is blurred out by using a depth of field.
I like it because it is different. You get the boring tourist pictures from the fountain across the road, or the ones of the Guards standing to attention outside, but this, not trying to be biased, captures Buckingham Palace in a different way.
I am not quite sure which way that is, but I'm sure I'll figure it out...

Breaking News!!
So, my Grandad said on Christmas Day that my photographs were really professional and I should get a professional opinion on them. So I did.
Art233 is an Art Gallery in Crowthorne - small but still an Art Gallery. The man who runs it, Pete, says he really likes the photographs that I sent him, and he wants to have a chat with me about displaying/selling my photographs IN HIS GALLERY!!!
When I got this email I jumped out of my seat!! Many galleries have been turning around and saying no, just like that. Look at smaller galleries, so I did, emailed loads and only one reply came back! Which is a good thing...
I am going to see him on Thursday afternoon with my presentations and my project that I did for Photography.
Wish me luck!!!

This was taken in my front garden a while ago. I like this picture as it has captured the water as well, whereas having flash on would have made the plant brighter, but removed the water slightly giving it less impact. This was one of the photos that I sent to the Art Gallery!

Happy New Year!
I know, I'm bad, it has been a while since I blogged a picture. But to be honest, with the freezing temperatures here and nothing to really take pictures off unless its of something boring like the carpet in my living room or the cupboards in my room... Really, there isn't a lot happening here.
So I thought I would save one for New Year! Admittedly, it doesn't really have anything exciting in it. It is to do with New Year in a way, in the way that it was food that we ate at the little "get-together" at my house...
Soo... FOOD!!
There will be more photos to follow, once back to college, more photos will be taken!! Here is to the next project.

See, I told you - not really that interesting. The thing that I like about this picture is that you can see the spring rolls clearly at the front, and the sweet chili dipping sauce, but then the spring rolls in the background, bearing in mind they were about five centimetres away from the others, were blurry. I think that this picture captures the food in a different way than food is normally captured in. I mean, you get people taking pictures of their food all the time, posting on Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr, but are they showing their food in a unique way??
I did like this picture as I thought it was interesting.
Now there is one picture that I didn't take, but I thought I would share it as it captures my New Years night in one...

All Too Eerie...
You might be thinking... "What the hell", but this is actually one of my favourite photographs that I have taken recently. I am doing photography as as AS-Level this year, and am really enjoying. I have almost completed my first project. We were set a project on Abstract Themes. I was really excited to do this because I love taking things and leaving them in their natural setting but making it seem like something it isn't. For my theme I went for cars, and the lights you get when you have a slow shutter speed.
This worked really well for some of the pictures and others not.
This is one of my favourites from the set that I took because it has captured the lights from the cars and the lampposts, and the light have streamed in one direction giving it an eerie effect.
Hopefully some more soon!!
Bye for now x

Birthday Cake!
Okay, this cake was delicious, it was shop-bought but the weekend was full of stuff to do and we had no time to do it in!!
I like this picture because I think it shows of the cake more. You can't see everything around it and the flame of the candles draws you right to the cake. The shape of the chocolate makes the image more dynamic as the lines are in different ways and make it stand out..
This was one of my favourite pictures from my Cousins' birthday. Even though it was twenty days ago....
Enjoy!!

Turning Time...
HI!!
This is a new thing that I am going to try to see if it will work! In September I started my A-Levels, Photography is one of the five!! This blog is going to show some of my work, where I took the picture, what I like about the picture and how it was taken.
If you are interested in any of my photographs let me know in a comment or email!!
First up - Autumn...
I love Autumn, it is probably my favourite season of the year, I love watching the leaves fall off the trees, and the leaves change colour. It makes me happy that I can wrap up with scarves, hoodys, gloves, hats, and curl up in my bed when I don't want to get up in the morning, or even when I don't want to do anything in the evening - bed is the best option.
Here is a picture I took in the garden of the leaves changing colour on the tree....
I like this picture because of the different colours, the red is a warm red, and the yellow is bright. I also like the way that the tree is in focus whereas the fence behind is not, Depth of Field - front object is the only object which is in focus, Focus Lock - I focused in on the tree and moved the camera so I had the fence in view and the focus was not in the middle of the photograph.
That's all for today!!
Let me know what you think about this photo and I will update you with another soon...
Love Loz, x
